- Restorative Yoga with Irma
December 19th, 6pm
Come in and relax!! Restorative is all about being in poses passively, letting gravity and breathe do their magic to restore your overused body. It is the one class where we get to just lie around and let it happen. At this time of the year, we gladly give our time and resources to others, yet often find ourselves over-tasked and stressed out. Come in and remember the magic you have within! Restoring and nurturing ourselves will help you become more established in your center, allowing you to naturally share from your abundance this season.
- Yin Yoga and Guided Imagery with Roland and Wrena
Friday, January 9th, 6-7:15pm
In this class, we will practice yin yoga that will help you reconnect with your parasympathetic nervous system which is often frazzled from day to day living. Yin Yoga is the relaxed practice of floor postures for three to five minutes at a time. A Yin practice emphasizes the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine. In this way it prepares the body and the mind for longer meditation practices. By drawing the student’s awareness away from the muscles and deeper into the bones, a deep level of relaxed focus is achieved. We will end with a guided imagery to help you feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Guided Imagery is a form of meditation that works on the subconscious level and helps you feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
- Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth with Julia Starovoitova
Friday, January 16th, 6-7:15pm
This class will present a series of five ancient Tibetan exercises. These simple movements restore youthful health and vitality by balancing and harmonizing invisible energy vortexes (chakras) within the body. Julia will begin with sharing a brief story about the discovery of the Five Rites, followed by a demonstration of each rite. Then you will get a chance to practice and take home a complete routine. The Five Tibetans represent a great way to keep your body in shape when you have limited time for a physical workout. With practice, you can do the whole routine in 15 minutes. Get a healthy start for New Year 2009! No experience necessary.
- Kundalini Yoga with Elena McKibben
Friday, January 23rd, 6-7:15pm
Kundalini Yoga is “the yoga of awareness”. It is the science of changing and strengthening your radiance to give you an expanded life and greater capacity to increase your creativity, intuition, mental clarity and emotional balance. It is for everyone who wants to keep their body young and flexible, spine supple, mind clear and spirit soaring with joy and happiness. Kundalini Yoga contains all modalities of yoga: pranayama (breathing techniques), asana (postures), chanting and meditation. Kundalini Yoga Kriyas (sets of exercises) are designed to address specific issues of body, mind and spirit. This is an invitation to be supported, feel uplifted, energized and change your mind, body and life.
