The Yoga Studies Program at Yoga Vista is designed to build a student’s knowledge and experience in the ancient tradition of Yoga. This program is for the aspiring Yoga student who wishes to deepen their personal practice and learn a variety of Yogic practices to inspire daily life. The modules are taught in a 2-day weekend format and require a willingness to be immersed in the Yoga teachings, participate in group assignments and attend the entire weekend program. A balanced approach of presentation, personal experience, reflection, and discussion will ensure the participant’s integration of learning. Each module can be taken independently, yet, they do build upon one another.

Module #1 Yoga Foundation
Discover the true healing essence of Yoga through an in-depth study of basic poses, beginning breathing methods and introduction to Yoga philosophy and ethics. The foundational teachings of Yoga are most helpful when parlayed into a daily yoga practice. Participants in this weekend immersion will leave with enough information to begin a personal home practice. This course is ideal for students who want to be introduced to the comprehensive tradition of Yoga as a wellness system.
Module #2 - Yoga Lifestyle and Wellness
Come learn how the Yoga tradition encourages a healthy lifestyle and offers an opportunity to achieve optimum wellness. This weekend workshop will provide an introduction to the energetic
system (Chakras and Nadis) of the body which shapes our emotional, psychological, and physical
well-being. According to renowned author, educator and therapist, Anodea Judith, “Learning
about the Chakras gives you access to your programmed responses so you can minimize their
negative effects and maximize their positive ones.” Additionally, presentation of wellness topics
such as Mindful Eating, Spiritual Nutrition, and Eliminating Cravings will encourage a healthy
and balanced relationship with food. Teachings from the ancient texts of the Baghavad Gita and
the Yoga Sutras will be shared to inspire our practices towards greater well-being.
Module #3 - Yoga Sun and Moon Integration The Sanskrit word Hatha represents the integration of the polarizing energies within each of us. Ha represents the sun, heating, active and qualities of reason and intellect, while tha characterizes the moon, cooling, relaxing and qualities of emotion and intuition. Each of us experiences the qualities of Sun and Moon energies within us to varied proportions. The more we can fine tune and steady these energies the more harmonious our lives will feel. In this weekend workshop you will learn and practice a variety of techniques to promote life balance and inner harmony. Through the in depth study and practice of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations), Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutations), pranayama, self-reflection exercises and guided meditation you will leave with a toolbox of wisdom to infuse balance into everyday life.
